Government Shutdown Credit Policy Update
Genworth supports the GSEs’ (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) announced temporary measures for impacted borrowers employed by the federal government or other individuals whose employment is directly impacted by the shutdown. We expect our customers to utilize available third-party tools, follow up appropriately on AUS “red flags” and apply thoughtful underwriting to files where closing (and MI activation) will occur before the typical verifications will be received. Genworth MI is Partnering with Fannie Mae in MI Factor Program
We are pleased to announce that Genworth Mortgage Insurance is partnering with Fannie Mae by participating in the MI Factor Program which was announced August 15, 2018 in Fannie Mae’s Servicing Guide Announcement SVC-2018-05. This program will allow for a more streamlined and simplified approach for submitting your Genworth MI claims. For more details see Fannie Mae’s Servicing Guide Announcement SVC-2018-05 and Mortgage Insurance (MI) Factor Fact Sheet. New Loan Modification Codes Added to MILAR Templates
Thank you for continuing to submit your Mortgage Insurance Loan Activity Report (MILAR) report by the 25th of each month. To comply with industry changes, we have added new Loan Modification Codes to our MILAR Templates. Please incorporate these codes into your MILAR reporting when applicable. Access the updated templates on the publications tab.
